The Life of a Brand New College Student

So this past Wednesday I started my first year of College. Over all I had a great time and a good first experience. Going to college is the first truly adult thing I've done. The students in my classes are proof that college can be for everyone. We all are at different stages in our lives. I was surprised to see how many older people and people even younger than me all gathering in one place to fulfill a common goal,  To better themselves and to hopefully improve their futures. I'm proud to be a part of this group of unique people.

  2. Hey girl (: I totally feel the same way. I just started last March and I noticed I had a lot of "older" people in my classes. It was just a strange transition from high school. Also the part where you can eat and drink whenever you want to in class & can just leave whenever you want to also. Ha! I'm glad to have met you though, you seem pretty cool. We will get through this Composition course together ha! I liked the quote you used too. It shows that everyone is all at a different place in their life, and whatever they're going through that we can all help each other out and help each other grow. Each semester I find myself meeting new people and it's probably my favorite thing about college. You'll get to understand where people have come from, their struggles, and just be able to relate to each other and find similarities with one another. Just keep you head up when the going gets tough in college. Ive had some struggles my first quarter, but there are always people to help you out! Have fun & I'll be seeing you in class! -Taylor

  3. Nice I'm glad to see someone else is as new as I am. I started at the same time you did, and i must say i enjoyed it thus far. I don't foresee things going wrong, this is something I've always wanted to do. So now I must prove my self, and do the best I can. I hope to make friends with as many people possible. hope to hear from you on my blog! See you in class. :)

  4. I am a post secondary student and even though I am just a senior in high school I feel the same. I was super excited on my first day of college and I am really glad that I got the opportunity to attend college while still in high school. I agree with the fact that there are so many different people in one class. There are students like me that are still in high school, people that just graduated high school or are continuing their college education, and even people that are returning to college to get a degree or to just prove that they can accomplish this task. It is nice because as a group we can have different points of view from peoples different life experiences. I like your quote, it really sums up your entry very well.

  5. I am not going to lie to you, but the message behind this blogger post is freaking awesome. In honesty, before I came to college, I never really thought about the diverse community that coincides with a university. And, to extrapolate further, I absolutely love the fact that the people of this community are so different. For one, this makes me feel a lot more comfortable with being myself. Also, this is awesome because of the fact that I can (assumingly) have a conversation with basically any one here because of the fact that most of the people here are just as new as I. I am extremely excited to pursue interesting, intriguing, and diverse conversations with this great community. It is going to be awesome to learn the plot lines, triumphs, and cliff hangers each of these people’s stories contain. Also, I really hope I can learn multiple life lessons from these people’s backgrounds. In terms of it being the beginning of the school year still, I am also pretty terrified of talking to new people. But, this post is sort of a calming message to me. So, overall, I’m happy to see so many people in the same boat as me. It is ultimately going to feel so awesome to see all of the people I have met through college personally and spiritually grow over the course of the school year. In conclusion, thanks for the interesting blog post, it contains a great message and definitely expresses a calming theory of the university!
